Artificial Disco is the electronic alter-ego of Daníel Sigurðsson, composer and trumpet player from Iceland. Featuring melodic techno, jazzy drum and bass, electronic funk and the occasional trumpet, the style is usually funk-oriented, occasionally veering into the experimental and features improvisational moments along with tightly composed ones. Influences range from everything between electronic acts such as Squarepusher and Orbital to the off-kilter jazz of Frank Zappa and Miles Davis.
